Twinning Support of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova

In the period of 09-10th of June 2010, the Project “Twinning Support of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova” supported by the EU was conducted in the Republic of Moldova.

PRISA Foundation expert Victor Leuca contributed with expertise to the legal seminar conducted in the framework of Twinning Project “Support of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova” that has been supported by the European Union and was conducted in the Republic of Moldova in the period of 09-10th of June 2010.

The principal objective of the EU Project was to contribute to the development skills and knowledge among deputies and civil servants of the Parliament regarding legislation and policies of the EU as well as national parliament’s activities.

Meantime, the Project main aim was to support harmonization of Moldovan legislation, norm and standards with the European ones by promoting role of civil society and consolidating democracy and state of rule in the Republic of Moldova.

Comparative analysis of international practices regarding election campaign and party financing were the main elements of the Project activity.

Mr. Yves - Marie Doublet, Vice-director of Department of Legal Studies of the National Assembly of France conducted the seminar on those topics, presenting French, Hungarian and other European states’ experiences of electoral systems.

In the framework of this seminar, experts presented a case study as a sample of developing legislation elements on evaluating regulatory impact in the Republic of Moldova.

Representatives of the Moldovan Parliament, Government and non-government organization, political parties, mass-media, students and professors of the State University of Moldova actively shared their knowledge and experience during this seminar.
